Armed Forces Covenant Implementation – City of York

In the City of York a new framework of assessment has been devised to document local authority covenant implementation.  This includes documented consideration of the local armed forces community (including your staff) when devising new strategies, revision of policies linked to delivery of services. A questionnaire for each pathway has been produced with the aim of supporting a unified approach.

The Integrated Referral Model (IRM) identifies benefits of asking the armed forces question to recipients of local authority provided adult social care.  This provides easy identification of the armed forces community and provision of data. It enables financial savings, provides better social outcomes and compliance with the Armed Forces Covenant and Care Act.
