Tapestry taps into covenant funding

July 7, 2016

It was something of a stitch up for Staffordshire soldiers and civilians when they joined together to produce an eight metre long tapestry to celebrate a century of soldiering at Whittington Barracks.

Around 200 people from the local community and from the Barracks took part in the three-and-a-half month long project.

A grant from the Covenant Fund made it possible by covering part of the costs.

The Covenant Fund makes £10m a year available in grants for community schemes that help integrate civilian and armed forces communities.
