Welsh Government continues to support the Armed Forces community

The Welsh Government is committed to providing high quality services to the Armed Forces community in Wales.

To ensure the needs of the Armed Forces community are reflected in policy developments the Welsh Government has established an Expert Group. With its diverse representation the group includes serving officers from the Tri-Services, representatives of the Army, Naval and RAF Families Federations, and third-sector organisations who are active in supporting the Forces community. Together the group determines its future priorities and how these can be delivered collectively.

Working with key partners the Welsh Government has refreshed its Package of Support and produced a separate guide for serving personnel and their families called Welcome to Wales. Together these two key documents set out the support available in Wales for both serving and ex-service personnel and their families.

In consultation with partner organisations a Housing Referral Pathway has also been developed, enabling veterans and their families to make an informed choice of the option most appropriate for them.
